You can visit any licensed vet or emergency clinic in the U.S., and you and your veterinarian of choice can determine the best treatment plan and medical course of action for your pet. Once you’ve received and paid your bill, send it to us and we will proves your claim for reimbursement2 if the claim expense is covered under the policy.

How do I change my policy?

Pin Paws Pet Care allows you to make changes to your policy during your annual renewal period. You’ll be notified via email when your policy is up for renewal. You’ll then need to call one of our customer service representatives at (844) 746-7297 to change or revise your policy. Changes can’t be made after the renewal period ends and the policy is active.

Where can I find details for my policy?

You can find details surrounding your policy coverage via your MyPets MetLife account online. Once you’re signed into your MyPets account, please select “Policies” in the menu. Desktop users should see policy information below their policy number. Mobile users will need to click the “View Details” link on the “Policies” page. Click on the “Policy Packet” button to read the terms and conditions of your pet’s pet insurance policy.

What does my policy cover? What does it exclude?

Read our coverage and exclusions page to see general coverage details. Because your policy coverage can include thousands of things, it’s much easier to list what isn’t covered. To view your policy’s exclusions, select “Policies” in the menu. Click the “Policy Packet” button to read the terms and conditions of your pet’s pet insurance policy, which includes a comprehensive list of policy exclusions.

Does my policy include dental coverage?

Dental-related claims are coverable if related to new periodontal disease or an injury/illness. Pre-existing periodontal disease or any pre-existing perio conditions are not coverable. MetLife Pet Optional Preventative Care plans can provide coverage for dental cleanings that are not related to periodontal disease.

How do I file a claim?

You have the option to submit your claim via your MyPets online portal, email, text, fax or mail. To file a claim, be sure to send the claim form, veterinary records, and itemized invoice to get your claim processed as quickly as possible. You must submit a claim within 90 days of treatment in order to be eligible for reimbursement.

1. MyPets Online Portal
Click “Submit a Claim” in the menu to upload digital files of your veterinary records ) SOAP notes, chart notes, etc.) and itemized invoice. Select the pet the claim is for. If you’re submitting a claim for each pet, you’ll need to upload the applicable documents for each pet (even if the documentation has both pets listed).

Select whether it is a “New” or “Existing” claim. Select “Existing” when you need to send additional documents for a submitted claim. Click “Add Files”. Select the files needed to process the claim, then click OK. Verify all the files and documentation needed are listed on the screen. Click “Submit” to send the documentation to MetLife Pet Insurance.

How does a deductible work for pet insurance?

A pet insurance deductible is the amount of money on your vet bill that you’re responsible for under the terms of the policy before your provider reimburses you. A $3,000 vet bill under a plan with a $500 deductible means you would pay the first $500. The insurance provider would cover the rest of the bill up to your reimbursement rate. The size of your deductible depends on the policy plan you choose. You can find your reimbursement rate in your policy packet.

What is the annual benefit limit?

Annual limits cap your reimbursement within a 12-month period. Each policy typically has a maximum amount of money that you can be reimbursed for a year. Once you’ve hit your annual reimbursement cap, you would be responsible for the full cost of your vet bills until your annual limit resets. You can find your annual limit in your policy packet.

Orders and tag replacements are fulfilled and shipped out 3-5 days via USPS and therefore should arrive to you within 7 to 10 days.

What if I do not receive my tag(s) in the mail?

If you have not received your tags within 10 days from your order request, please email us at support@pinpaws.com and our team will confirm that your order has been fulfilled or assist you with getting new tags if needed.

Pin Paws and Pin Paws Plus Memberships can be cancelled at any time by phone or email. Your monthly membership will automatically expire the next day.

30-Day Free Look

If you are not satisfied for any reason, You may return this Policy to Us within 30 days from the Policy Effective Date and this Policy will be void from the beginning. If You have not submitted any claims prior to the date You return the Policy, We will refund the premium You paid.

This Policy is valid for the Policy Period, beginning on the Effective Date, after which it will automatically be renewed for another year, unless We have provided notice to You that We are not renewing this Policy as explained below or the Policy has been canceled by You or by Us.

You may cancel this Policy at any time. To cancel the Policy, You must notify Us in Writing that You wish to cancel the Policy, in which case the Policy will end at the last day of the month We receive Your notice or the date requested in Your notice if later.

If We choose to cancel or not renew Your Policy, We will notify You in Writing at least 30 days prior to the date the Policy will end. After this Policy is in effect for more than 60 days, or if this is a renewal of a Prior Policy, We may only cancel for one or more of the following reasons:

  1. You fail to pay Your premium by the due date;
  2. The Policy was obtained through fraud, misrepresentation or concealment in Your application;
  3. We have agreed to issue a new Policy with the same or an affiliated company; or
  4. You fail to comply with the Policy terms and conditions in a manner that prejudices or negatively affects Our ability to properly assess or evaluate the claim or other material rights We have under the Policy.

Any cancellation will be effective for all coverage for all persons and all Pets. If this Policy is canceled, coverage will no longer be provided as of the effective date of the cancellation shown on the notice of cancellation.

Returns & Refunds

If you are not satisfied with the product you received from us, just contact us within 30 days of purchase and we will give you instructions on how to return the pet tags. Pet tags must be in re-sellable condition. We do not accept returns on used pet tags. Once we receive the product, we will issue a refund. We only ask that you cover the cost of return shipping. If you cancel any of our membership plans, your pet’s profile and tag will become inactive.
